PROs: The ability to create a groups on Twitter or to find real time conversations or tweets about various topics. Could be used as an easy way to find people to follow who are tweeting about topics of interests.
CONs:
No exclusivity on a hashtags.
Members of Twitter overusing hashtags in one single tweet which dilutes the tweet itself or using a popular hashtag to redirect to spam (It's not the hashtags fault though).
